Burton
Bradstock
A large pretty village, just back from the sea at the of end of the Bride
Valley, with many thatched cottages built from the local stone in the
16th & 17th century.

A village-sized seaside resort in a fine situation with a miscellaneous
collection of buildings and a proper harbour. Until 1884 this was Bridport
Harbour. The views along the shore are beautiful.

Bridport
An interesting market town with the rope industry as its staple trade
since the 13th century; with its most prosperous period in the 18th and
early 19th century, the date of most of the town's building. An old saying
is 'to be stabbed with a Bridport dagger' i.e. hanged.

Abbotsbury
A much visited pretty picture-postcard village, all stone with lots of
thatch cottages. With the swannery, the church and abbey remains, the
tithe barn farm and the sub-tropical gardens, it is a good place to spend
a day.
